Blaze Marie

Founder     Teacher      Mother

Blaze Marie found music at an early age—and realized young that something about it felt deeper than just performance.

Raised in an artistic household, she grew up immersed in music, painting, and creative expression. Between watching her mom’s all-female punk band, Action Barbie, rehearse in the basement and traveling to New York with her older sister to see Broadway shows, she was exposed to both raw and polished forms of storytelling. Her mother often jokes that she was singing before she could talk.

At 13, Blaze picked up her first guitar and began writing her own songs. Songwriting became a way to process emotions, make sense of heavy experiences, and express the things that often felt impossible to say out loud.

Over the years, Blaze has taught and mentored students of all ages. She began as a vocal coach and band leader with Girls Rock Indy, later teaching private voice, piano, and guitar at Carmel Music Academy.

In 2021, Blaze moved to Nashville TN, where she began to perform professionally. She directed musical theatre productions at The Arts Alliance, and continued shaping her approach to teaching—one that blends technical skill with emotional connection and confidence-building.

In 2023 Blaze had begun recording original music and planning her first album when life shifted again—she became pregnant with her daughter, Aurelia.

After becoming a mother, Blaze felt a deeper shift in what she wanted her work to mean. She began leading songwriting workshops in recovery spaces and offering private lessons in a more personal, connection-focused way.

In 2025, wanting to be closer to her family,  she returned home to Indianapolis—where she founded Second Verse Studios.

Second Verse Studios is built on the belief that art has the power to heal, connect, and transform. It’s not just about learning music—it’s about creating space for people, to be seen, get honest, and turn their lived experiences into something beautiful.

Through songwriting, creative workshops, and music education for all ages, Blaze helps people turn real life into something they can hold, share, and be proud of.

Blaze’s work centers around one powerful belief:

✨ Art can heal

✨ Music creates connection

✨ Your story deserves to be heard
